It is located in Coast Province of Kenya, lies to the east of the Nairobi- Mombasa road. Tsavo is famous for its two separate parks divided into Tsavo East National Park which is one of the oldest and the largest parks in Kenya, and Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo East is flat, dry, more accessible and slightly larger than Tsavo West. Its counterpart is mountainous and wet. It is also famous for its bird life and large mammals: black rhino, Cape buffalo, elephant, leopard and hippo. Best time to go there is from May to October.
